RALEIGH GOLF SOCIETY – AUTUMN TERM AWAY DAY AT CARYLON BAY GC

1. Introduction.
The above competition will take place at Carylon Bay Golf Club, on Thursday 28th September 2023.
2. Arrival Time:
Everyone should aim to arrive by 1030.
3. Entries.
Teams of 4 are invited from RALEIGH golf society. Entries will be limited to 10 teams, a ‘first come first served’ policy will operate. Any individual entries will be placed into a team if possible. The entry Pro-forma at Annex A is to be returned to Mr Steve Brittain.
4. Competition Format.
The competition will be a Team Stableford, Cha Cha Cha format.
Hole 1 One to Count
Hole 2 Two to Count
Hole 3 Three to Count
Hole 4 One to Count, Hole 5 Two to Count, Hole 6 Three to Count etc;
• All entrants should have a recognised club or My EG(WHS) handicap. Those in possession of a current WHS handicap should endeavour to submit at least four cards, including one competition round, between now and the competition Away Day to help calculate an accurate handicap. Those not in possession of WHS handicap will play of 18. The course slope index will then be used to identify the playing handicap.
• The competition will be played off the yellow tees for the men / red tees for the ladies.
• Royal & Ancient Golf Rules will apply and local rules that are in force on the day.
• There are to be no gimmies, all balls are to holed out.
5. Cost.
The entry fee for the day is £48, Members are to pay £25 and the Society will subsidise, per person, £23. The price will cover the following:
• Green Fee for 18 holes of Golf.
• Breakfast Brunch
• Prizes
• BACS Payment: to Raleigh Golf Society, 30-98-97 60044963
6. Competition brief.
A competitor’s brief will take place in the players Bar commencing at 1045, o/c Breakfast Brunch. …The first tee off is at 1212. A full programme of tee times will be released prior to the event.
7. Prizes.
Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Teams. There will also be prizes for Nearest the Pin on all par 3’s and Longest Drive to be nominated on the day.
8. Changing facilities.
Changing facilities are available at Carylon Bay GC. All competitors are advised not to leave valuables unattended.
9. Refreshments.
Competitors are advised to supply their own refreshments for their time on the course. Refreshments after the round will be available for purchase from the Clubhouse/bar.
